Heater Valve and Compressor Clicking Issue

Hello All,

Just looking for a little diagnostic help on my Ranger 2.3 1997.

Here is the issue. I have replaced the Heater Control Valve two times. It is a Murray POS plastic made in China part. Leaks right out of the metal arm. I suppose there is something wrong with the o-ring there. Another thread just to tighten it with a phillips head screwdriver to secure the o-ring. I did and we'll see how it works. I am aware there is another full metal valve on ebay, but haven't bought it yet.

I noticed after replacing the Heater Control Valve is that it will click in-sync with the ac compressor. I am beginning to think there is a connection between the constant off and on of the compressor and the opening and closing of the Heater Control Valve. The opening and closing of the valve puts too much wear and tear on the shitty plastic, making it leak antifreeze.

Any ideas on how to stop this clicking? Will this involve Manifold Gauges and the works? Could this be connected to my leaking ball-bearing high and low end ports?

Thanks!

Let me know if you get a part number for that metal valve I'm tired of having them pop and dump my fluid.

Dang, I researched for about an hour trying to find the post with that part number can't find it now. Look around on this site. It there somewhere. Maybe the Rangerstation gods will be good to us and someone will find it.

There is another thread with a bypass i also can't locate now, but research. They're there.

Good Luck. My solution has been to keep my heat on low. I don't go above the second dot. This prevents it from clicking off and on continually. Seems to work.
