Hearing a bad grinding sound!!!

I was driving down the street today and than I hear a grinding sound coming from my driver side front wheels. Every time I hit a little bump, I hear it grinding. I really need help fast! If you guys have any ideas of what it is, I'll be glad to take any advice!

You sound young and strong. Slowly drive the truck home. Block the rear wheels. Take out the lug wrench and check them If they are tight, then get out the jack and raise the LF. Try wiggling the wheel, up ,down, side to side, In and out. Report back.

Agreed. Check the lugs nuts once, then jack it up and start looking for broken stuff.

I looked at it and all the lugs were tight! I jacked it up and took the tire off and I see nothing broken or out of place. The rotors are fine, brake lines are good. But however, I went to work yesterday and it rained pretty hard and with lots of rain comes to muddy dirt roads. I went down them and I got out of it in 4WD. I also have some out dated manual locking hubs and I am thinking I need to replace them. I think the grinding is from all the dirt and mud that is covering everything lol.

Ooooh , that grinding. I hear that from the RF. I was checking under the hood and there was sand on the frame rail. It is a 19 yr old Ford truck, that had been used hard by persons unknown. Stuff is worn, but still has life. Keep it greased and check stuff. When the rear U joint let go . I drove 150 miles home on the front end. It cant be in too bad shape.

Maybe a pebble stuck in a brake pad or between the rotor and a dust shield?
Wear tab on the front pads?

Is it an around and around, or an up and down grinding?

I drove it to school today and I haven't heard a single grinding noise yet. I am gonna clean it up tomorrow and maybe it will get rid of some of the mud underneath it. Other than that it's all good. Thanks!

UPDATE: I looked deeper at my locking hub and discovered dirt got inside of it! I am going to take it to the shop to get it cleaned out and maybe get a new set of locking hubs. I don't know, we'll see how much the hubs got damaged. I'll keep you guys posted.
