I second RonD's statement. As long as you didnt go crazy with the rtv, you just added an extra layer of protection so to speak. Im a technician as well and every technician is different in his way of doing things. You should be just fine. Just watch it for the first couple hundred miles, as long as your not smoking a ton out of the tail pipe, im talking thick white smoke billowing which means coolant is being burnt, and loss of coolant, your good to go!:headbang:

I 3rd Ron's points, unless you spread it like a 3rd grader spreading peanut butter on a sandwich (i.e. way to much and it squrits out every where you are fine. However, I do hope you have a manual or proper torque sequence and specs, as that is most critical.

I used the proper tourque specs (tech library) however I used a harbor freight tourque wrench...hopefully its correct

Just a note about torque wrenches.
If they are the "click" style, set them at 0ft/lb when done using them.
If they sit with, 40ft/lbs for example, for awhile(a few months) they will lose there accuracy.

If you have a vice you can test your torque wrench.

Clamp socket square in vice sideways
From the center of socket square measure out 12" on the handle, mark it with tape.

A "foot/pound" of torque is the weight(pressure) of 1 pound at 12" from center on bolt/nut being tightened.

Set torque wrench at 10ft/lb, hang a 10lb weight on the tape mark, wrench should "click", remove weight and set wrench at 12ft/lbs, hang 10lb weight again, there should be no "click".

Test wrench up to whatever you feel is best for your use.
