Has anyone installed bilstein 7100s or 6100s?

Im looking to install the 14" travel shocks from bilstein on my 1995 ranger 4x4 splash reg cab.
I'm going to eventually buy deaver f31 springs and some b2 springs for upfront, but i'd like to have something to replace the shocks i have on my 3 inch lift, one was dented by the swaybar that someone put on, and it shifted over.
If anyone has any recommendations for something that'll bolt up and give similar performance, please send links/info my way.

I'd like to know if anyone on here has installed a similar shock and could give me some info on how I'd adapt my mounts to fit these.

Would it basically consist of getting a bushing to fit the stock shock mounts in the rear?

I'm going to ask my mechanic friend later this week on how he'd do it, but if I could get some insight from anyone who knows what they are talking about I will give some textual love and thank yous, and it doesn't seem like there's a guide anywhere for this swap.
 
I just installed James Duff 15" Long Travel shocks (Part #8120). They are way cheaper if you don't have your heart set on the Bilsteins.

The new shocks should mount the same as the old without a problem. Your rear shocks should be eye mounts, not stud mounts. You will need to find a way to mount the remote reservoirs if you get the Bilsteins. I think Ruff Stuff Specialties can help you here.

You also need to measure extended and collapse length of the current shocks versus the new ones. The longer shocks may be too long until you install your deaver springs. You don't want them to bottom out.
 
I'm fairly certain that they are pretty close to that, they are lift shocks, i'll measure them this week when I get the chance.



I gotta check out those shocks, i'm not dead set, they just seemed decent and I didn't want to pay 1000k for fox or kings when i'm not bj baldwin and live in desert free pennsylvania.
Yeah, the fronts are studs, I was just confused because I saw a bunch of people creating custom mounts and everything, but it was for toyotas and everything.

At most i'll just have to get the bushing that fits now that I looked at the truck, but i'll probably have to find an equivalent shock with studs or build a mount for the front.

Edit: holy shit those shocks are only $45? How are they working out for you, it almost sounds too good to be true.

If you have questions, give James Duff a call. I always call them to place orders because they offer more products than their website shows. Their staff is very helpful. Just take the measurements before calling them.
 
transmissions, get the james duff unless you to a lot of off-roading cause the blisteins are great shocks but for mild off-roading the duff and blisteins match up
 
Thanks, i guess they will have to do. It's gonna be the college hauler from here to erie for the time being, and I don't plan on getting crazy yet until i have allll that money for a new axle and to do the whole suspension.
I'm definitely considering these now.

And I really needa follow your build thread more.
