I have just about finished my pass side half door, and about to start the drive side. I'm still toying with ideas about what to do for mirrors. I may try to remount the stock ones, but I'm not sure about visability, since they'll be moved forward quite a bit. I was wondering if those who have done it could post examples of their solutions?

Anybody? ......HELLO!!! .....hello,... hello,... hello.... (that was an echo)
It's cold and lonely when no one answers... ;)

haha i'll be in the same boat as you in the next couple weeks. just got another set of doors to cut up. so i want to know too.

drive on road use at least one mirror.

you dont need a door...you do need a mirror.

i made a block out of some box tube years ago to go doorless that pinned in where the door did...it was perfect with fullsize mirrors. when the dot hassled me constantly for some sort of tube/bar as the kids rode in it alot i modded some old stock mirrors and mounted to a plate on the tube....still use it.

use your imagination dude...:icon_thumby:

this location was chosen for max visibility and still able to fold totally out of the way....

i been playing around with different scenarios for the future doors.

you need at least 2 rearward facing mirrors one of which must be on the driver side providing an undistorted view.

not like the passenger outside mirror. ya know how its bubbled out to give a wider view. the whole objects may be closer than they appear thing.

and dont even thing about fun house mirrors.

yes blake is right, good catch ....need two...i assume your windshield mount is usable.

if the view from it is obstructed due to load the passenger side needs a mirror as well...the minimum is driver door and windshield/interior area

i have been spanked for that many times cause my truck is often heavily loaded

Your best bet: Fab up a mirror for both sides. Cant be that hard. and glue on your rearview.

Uh, I have all three stock mirrors intact and in place. I was hoping for some good design ideas, to use on the half doors I'm fabing up. I just wanted to see examples of what others have done for this mod.

I actually have what I think may be a pretty good design idea, but would still like to see what others have done, incase there is something out there I'd like better, BEFORE I build my mirrors.
Thanks for all the feedback!

I just bought some cheap replacement mirrors for my half doors. mounted them to where I could see and it was done.
