Gun Control statement

I totally understand your point... but it takes more than that.
Its not like I can grow a gun in my closet and sell it down the street. That gun has to be manufactured somewhere, ect.

95% of the guns taken in gang busts up here are illegally imported from the US... Your lack of gun control is having a direct effect on our need for it.

I dont think you shouldn't be allowed to own guns, but you should have to pass a freakin' test (on a regular basis, too) and there needs to be serious controls on the supply of guns.
Gun show loop holes shouldn't exist, for instance.
Ahh, here we go again.....

You obviously know nothing about improvised weapons - anyone that can turn a wrench to work on a truck or the like has the ability to build such weapons. So yes, it can't be grown in a closet... but it can be manufactured in your garage. Thus banning firearms has no impact on the criminal element - it only strips rights from the honest folk.

And the so-called "gun show loophole?" Please. You obviously have not been to any in the States lately.... They check your ID at the door, they have police standing guard at the doors, there is likely undercover Police, FBI and BATF circulating the show, and background checks are done with the exception of long guns, but anyone can buy those out of the local newspaper without any permits or such. However, even if you buy a long gun from a dealer, you still get the background check. And if you buy from a private individual you still have to go through the transfer of ownership paperwork, so serial numbers and the like are all properly recorded. Yea, some loophole.

You know- it's always america's fault to any other country in the world. It's just so easy to blame us I guess. Like I said earlier- there's no loop holes at our gun shows either and I'm in redneck territory. It's easy for me to buy guns at a dealers shop than at a show.

No, I should not have to take a test to exercise my rights.

Canada is a perfect example of gun control not working, criminals are criminals and will break laws to get them.

If Canada did not have gun control and its citizens allowed to arm themselves, crime would drop.

The loophole in American gun laws is that its up to the individual state. So even though I can't buy a gun in NY without a permit, I can in Ohio. Technically illegal for me to do it but perfectly legal for the gun store to sell it. And in case you are wondering, I have bought a gun in Ohio without producing my permit then I added it once I got home.

One of the first things Hitler did after taking complete control of Germany was to outlaw guns.....hmmm,how did that work out? Well knives also kill people, shouldn't they be illegal also...but there again it's people that kill. Also it's widely thought that the Japanese during WW2 didn't even attempt to invade the U.S. mainland because they knew that pretty much every farmer in the country had at least one gun. Right now what Obama and his thugs are trying to get passed into law is the type of guns we can have, which we saw with Clinton and the assault weapon ban had no effect on crime. It's a stepping stone to try to go by the U.N. gun laws that pretty much outlaw everything for the normal person.

alright ya'll, we can argue till we're blue in the face about weather or not guns kill, and weather or not they should be illegal.

here's the deal, a vast majority of deadly crimes commited with guns, are done with ILLEGALLY procured guns, so making all guns illegal wont stop them.
if you think that "gangbangers" and "thug wannabees" care if their guns are legal, you're as dumb as they are, they DONT want legal guns, they dont want any way to tie them to that gun.

i personally have almost a dozen guns, mostly shotguns and hunting rifles. my father taught me how to shoot them as soon as i could hold them, and when i was seventeen i enlisted in the US Marine corps. where i recived MORE training on how to handle all kinds of weapons. i am proud to say that i shoot expert with a hand gun, and given a decent rifle, i can be deadly at 500yds.

do i go out into the streets looking for a fight and killing randoms? no, but i have the weaponry and the training to defend myself and my country if ever called upon to do so.

oh and in the 10+ years i have been shooting, i have never killed anything except alot of paper targets, alot of clay pigeons, and the occasional deer, pheasant, of turkey.

I disagree.

The best CC firearm out there is the one with the biggest hole in the business end that you are comfortable with using, that can be easily hidden on your person, and that reliably goes BANG! when you need it to.

There is no sense carrying a LC9 if you're not comfortable and accurate with it. Neither is there any sense carrying a Magnum Research BFR in .500 S&W - even if you are comfortable with the recoil, it'd be like trying to hide a pink elephant in the backseat of a volkswagon.

Actually, he has the EPA trying to get lead ammo banned. That would drive up the cost of ammo and put a lot of people out of the shooting sports all together.

lead shot has been banned in a few states already for anything other than target shooting, iirc MI banned it for waterfowl hunting years ago.

It only makes sense to keep lead out of water though...

its banned here in MS for waterfowl i think... which makes sense.. i don't use lead for duck hunting..

are a lot of your hunting bullets even lead tip any more? i know the cheaper ones are, but what about boat tail hollow points, a-max's, ballistic tips? do they have lead in them?
red= my favorite for my 30-06:thefinger:

idk,... i do know that the rifle range down here on parris island (USMC boot camp) is one of the most polluted waterways, lead-wise, in the states

one reason i usually catch and release around here
