Gt-12

Not quite vacation. I've done a few small experiments to see how things will work out with the lexan and lighting. But mostly I'm at the point where I have to remove the paint and I always get off work too late to make noise in the garage and on the weekend other stuff seems to come up. If I still haven't found time by the end of the month, I'm gonna try the paint stripper someone else had recommended in the other thread.

Speaking of strippers, I saw this at sears the other day...

i know what you mean about having to keep it down when it gets late.once the kids go to bed,i'm hooped.for chemical strippers,i like this stuff.

Kleen-Strip Aircraft Paint Remover also works great. Used it on a King Air in tech school, and the old paint almost fell off. Just don't get the stuff on you.

Well time for me to hit the sack. With any luck this single guy's vehicle stable (the one I haven't built yet) is going to need a seventh bay. Guy in the next town has a wrecked 99 Explorer V8 2WD with 211K on it. If the price is right that engine might just make it into one of the Rangers some day.

i've used that too...and wholehartedly endorse it.just can't find it here.

su-weeet.let us know how it goes:icon_thumby:

an area that i brought up in the first couple of pages, and haven't addressed yet is the seat fit.while i can get them in as is,i can't use the adjusters(like i'd ever need to pull them from the furthest back position)so i'll be rearranging things there.i'll swap the tracks side for side,so the adjuster will go in between the tracks.

gt6004-36.jpg

as for how they'll fit between the frame rails,i cut out big sections from the rails to allow the seats to fit.these still need to be plated in with 1/8'' steel to get back some of the strength that was lost.

another thing to bring up while taking pics in this area is the running of brake lines.it doesn't matter that no one will ever see them....a nice neat routing with even bends will always be the sign of a person who cares about what he's building.

so heres the area i need to work in for the tubs.i cut out the inner fender structure when cutting the car apart...this will need to be replaced.

gt6009-13.jpg

these are the old inners.i will be making new ones,as the wheel openning will be quite a bit larger than the original, and i don't want it to be pieced together(like the hood:D)

here's my fancy blueprints for the tubs and driveshaft tunnel:icon_rofl:

when i'm making a drawing for someone else,i get fancy...for myself, not so much-as long as i have the info i need i'm good.

I believe you would be pleasantly surprised with my pan heater install on the shop truck then, trimmed zipties routed that thing beautifully to the front of the truck:D

i always appreciate good workmanship...what it's applied to is of no concern.

the idea of needing a pan heater still kinda scares me,though.i see your temps on the news every day and wonder how you do it.brrrr.:shok:

I love that stuff too don't put it in a plastic cup either I poured some sat i down ran inside real quick came out to find just a puddle of cup. I whole hardedly agree to not get it on ya too. Very first time I used I got a drop on my arm I figured oh well I belive I had just about everything else on my skin I should be ok.... NOPE not only did it burn like a magnafier in the sun when I got done washing my skin with water and wiping down with a rag I thought for sure I would have a hole there. I got lucky and it just left a red mark.

OK no thats of my cheast I have a idea for the seats BRB...

I love these seats from Bill Steels Ford model A. 2009 Hot Rod of the year I actualy got to see this car in person.

ok,we hit that at pretty much the same time.
i had thought about going with a seat like that, even making my own....but i'm really stuck on making the interior look as stock as i can manage-and i can actually fit the stock seats in.just gotta do some trimming and stuff to do it.

BRB= be right back. I have a stack of magazines in the bathroom I ran and grab the one I saw'em in so I could look'em up on the net. I put up another set too.

Just love the fancy blueprints, they look like the ones I make. The red marker's a nice touch, I usually use a carpenters pencil.
