the valve cover after surgery.looks better, and gives more hood clearance.

i also had to modify the right side header some more, too.the top front loop was too close to the spring,so it needs to be kicked in a bit.

some cutting and welding later,i should have about 1 1/4'' between the header and the spring now.

Looks good Tom, but I have to ask... how are you going to fill it with oil now?

i just use a long life oil.:D

actually,if you look at the head just below the valve cover there is a fitting bolted on.this is the crankcase breather.it has a removeable filter cartridge, and when removed opens a 1 1/4'' diameter passage to the crankcase.this will be the oil filler now.it's just as easy as using the original fill cap,in virually the same location, but out of the way.:icon_thumby:

I see, sounds like a solid plan.

my original idea was to relocate the filler cap to the rear of the motor somewhere, then i got to looking at the breather, and figured why make more work for myself.that'll do it.

How sharp is that angle at the bottom of it? It looks like there is a pocket in there. Would it be worth while to cut the flange of and weld on a smooth piece of bent tube the same size as the filter to use as a breather/filler?

for how often it needs to be used as a filler,i don't think it'll be an issue.the car will hardly be used,so once a year should be all the oil changes it'll need.

getting there,huh.

no ttb though:D

your capacities never cease to inspire:icon_thumby:
