When you buy a reman engine from any parts store see who their provider is. I would suggest staying away from ones manufactured by Groom's out of Tenn. I replaced a 4.6L in an F-150 back in late June/early July. Needless to say it ran funny from the initial start up and lasted maybe 50 miles before the #3 intake valve siezed. It had a warranty of course and I had to jump through some hoops to get a replacement. They have agreed with me since mid august it was their defect and replaced the engine free of cost and will provide cost toward labor. The problem is if you do have issues with their engines you will call and usually never get any kind of answer especially with the warranty department. And even if your claim is approved the turn around is stated to be 4-6 weeks to get repaid. I'm well past 8 weeks and have yet to see a dime. Just a heads up to any looking to buy a reman engine.

That's why it's best to stay with the 2 big sellers on the market. ATK & Jasper. Both have great warranties and the rep to stand behind em.

I reman my own engines.

Umm...........

Who's ATK? And I'd stay away from Jasper too!

I hear complaints about any place that remans anything but this has been by far the worst I have seen and heard of. I wanted to rebuild this one myself but it needed a lot of machine work, as busy as the machine shop is, and the actual cost to replace what he needed; a reman was more logical being it needed little down time. Just a suggestion to for all to check where you local stores get engines before you buy.

Here it is another month gone and not a dime recieved. Last i heard the refunded Fisher's/Federated for the replacement engine and they are to refund me. About 3 weeks ago it was pick up my refund at the store when it comes in. Now it's we wil mail you a check from the main office and will be a few more weeks. This has been nothing but a disaster. I have been a long time Fisher's customer and this experience has me questioning of going elsewhere. Before you make a big purchase check on not only the warranty but the crap you will have to go though if something blows up
