ya im pretty new to this site but been offroading as long i could drive. i recently got a 99 ranger and put a body lift (3'') and some other mods such as custom intake, mt/r's, dvd playre, and just some others here and there. i need help with my idea i wanna put a grill gaurd on my truck and i can get one real cheap but the problem is people told me it would look dumb becausae of the body lift. anyone out there deal with this or know how to deal with this. thanks kyle

Well, a truck this new should have bumper lift brackets and if the grill guard attaches to the same points as the bumper it will be fine, just don't expect it to be super strong since the lift brackets add a lot of leverage to the mounts.

I've got a 3" BL on my '00. I'm using a tube bumper from a full size and modifying it to fit. I ended up using some 3" square tube and some angle and mounted it on top of the chassis instead of on the sides. Strong as hell, takes a beating, and looks about as normal as my truck ever will

Here's an old pic of my truck with a 3" bl and a grill guard. I dont think it looks too bad or noticeable.
