Got my new hard drive today

FYI. Seagate bought out Maxtor.

I've read many times about gotchas and defects in WD drives...just not worth it to me.

Hitachi bought IBM's desktop drive division IIRC, a year or two after the deskstar debacle (which happened to me, grr).

I've had a few maxtors, no probs.

All of my HP PC's have used WD drives. None of them have failed. I had the "top of the line" seagate fail in 33 days.

I bought a WD 1TB to replace it.
