...and have 20/15 vision today! This surgery is absolutely amazing! And just for kicks, here's a picture of my eyes the day after.

I'v thought about it, and I gotta ask. Did it hurt? I am the biggest pussy when it comes to my eyes. But I loath wearing glasses.

It doesn't hurt when they're doing it. It just feels weird; kind of like the machine is trying to push your eyes through the back of your skull. But the hospital on base here has a laser that does the flap, whereas most civilian places cut it by hand with a diamond scalpel, so ymmv. The part where they shape the cornea isn't painful at all.

Now the ride home feels like someone poured hot sand in your eyes, and is extremely unpleasant. They gave me sleeping pills, so I just slept for 6 hours as soon as I got home, and they itched a little when I woke up, but no pain. That was last night. When I woke up this morning, I couldn't even tell I'd had surgery. They don't itch, no pain, no nothing.

So all in all, it's about an hour and half of misery, depending on how far you have to drive.

My mom had LASIK done about 5 years ago. She had to have her eyes covered for almost a week. I guess technology has changed.

My eyes are worse than hers. I'm legally blind. All of the doctors say I need to wait until I'm 30 to be sure my eyes are completely ready. Ugh, 5 more years.

**** that, my eyes are watering just thinking about that.

Your pupils look a little offset, or is that caused from you looking cross eyed into the camara?

Grraarrr. That makes me quirng from just the thought of a scapel near my eye. Much less for a machine to laser burn them. Luckily, my eye sight is just fine.

Glad it worked out for ya.

Yeah, I wouldn't have done it if there were a scalpel involved. I trust robot hands more than people hands.

Been thinking about it as well. Did it still burn when you closed your eyes on the way home?? I just shelled out another $70 for another pair of contacts and eye exam. I'm thinking next time I need em to have it done. Now just need to research who uses laser and who uses scapel...Cost you anything, or did your insurance pick it up??

The Navy paid for it, so it didn't cost me anything but paperwork and time. And yes, it burned on the way home. They make you bring someone to drive you home, because for the first hour or so, you can barely open your eyes, and you can't see anything anyway.

I always asked if it had complications after surgery and I'm wondering if for the total cost of $ 200 ~. It's worth it that we go there??

scalpel?! no way man. I'm such a wuss when it comes to my eyes.

I'd love to have lasik but with that right there, I could never do it. I wonder if insurance would pay for lasik?.......

$2,000?? They are advertising $299 per eye right now....Not saying I'd go to the lowest butcher, I mean bidder, but definitely have reputable butchers out there cheaper than $2k...
