I guess I'm somewhat of an audiophile now and what I've noticed is that audio is a world of diminishing returns. Around the 1970s they really figured out audio and learned how to make it good - and when audio is good it stays good. You can keep trying to improve the sound and quality but eventually you get to a point where you cant even hear the differences.
Well this is the case with my 2007 Ranger. To me it always sounded great - Pioneer really knew how to make good audio and having the surround speakers with the subwoofer right in the middle was really good. Well awhile ago I bought a 2016 Hellcat with like harmon kardon whatever audio and a dual 900w subwoofer in the trunk - and despite all my tuning it sounds like crap. The bass is overkill and the speakers dont really sound that good. Whenever I get back in my Ranger I realize how good of a job they did and how well balanced it is. I always thought about upgrading my Rangers audio but man - its hard to beat the sound right now.
The only downside is my cd player broke so I cant use CDs anymore.
