Alright here it goes. I have a 5R55e with 95,000kms. About 60,000 miles.
I have delayed shift from rev to drive, i have a lack of torque coming out of the transmission. I can push my foot down, hold the truck at 3000rpm and it will stay there the whole time till it hits about 4th and 5th. I have no CEL's or codes.
The trans used to make a tapping noise from a quick start but only when it was cold. it stopped doing it a while back. sounded like a 3"x3" plate of steel being tapped on the side of the trans at the rpm of the truck, so it got quicker as the truck sped up.
The truck has 33's, but 4.56 gears, so gearing is not the problem for a lack of power. stock it had 27" tires and 3.55's. Its a 2WD.
Also, when its warm, and say im driving down the road at 45mph (80kmh), if im light on the gas like im maintaining speed, the trans has a howl like that of mud tires. But if i give it more gas or let off, it goes away.
Please let me know your thoughts, i have warranty on it for another 20,000kms and i want a good working transmission before it runs out. i have the ESP from for at base coverage. it covers torque converter, all internal parts and seals/gaskets.
Thanks a bunch!
