GM and Chrysler merge???

Anyone else heard of this...just read where they were talking major merge or go bust...or ask for another bailout like the deal for the banks...

I think there is a problem here...there, and everywhere!

I heard About it on the news on wednesday i believe. I think its a terrible Idea. The companies that produce the Chevy HHR and The Chrysler PT Cruiser COMBINED?! Thats rediculous, like that's gonna make either of them last any longer.

The article I read said they would reduce costs by closing dealerships and cutting out many models...but I'd imagine they'd put out a few new models...hmmmm...a ViperVette!

My Personal opinion, Ford, Chevy, Dodge should all become one and kick the crap out of yotas and nissans. Could you imagine the Cummins backed by an Allison with a Ford Powertrain and body. And as far as sports cars go, no nissan will ever compete with the CORVIPESTANG SVTSRT10SS Hennessy Lingenfelter Cobra. WOW MOUTHFUL

My thoughts are if Mercedes couldn't turn them around then why in Gods name does GM want to merge with them.Two companies that are currently weak and make one really big weak company.Great idea.

I personally could care less if they merged. I have never been a fan of Chrysler stuff, and GM's quality control has been terrible for the last 15-20 years or so. So even if they did merge, I still wouldn't buy their products.

Range Rover isn't a brand, it's Land Rover. And Ford sold off Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin. They also own Lincoln and Mazda. Chrysler is trying to sell the Viper too.
