Hi all,

Anyone ever seen this, I have not had time to look under the truck, but was filling up and when the pump automatically stopped (full tank) I heard and then saw about 1/2 a cup of full pour out from under the bed, towards the center. Anyone ever seen this happen? I am guessing there is hole somewhere? Fuel gage is working properly.

Truck is a 94 B-3000

Thanks for any help,

Yup it happens. There is a hole either in the tank or the filler neck. Time to break out the creeper and get under there to find it.

probably filler neck. mine does it too... l got a replacement off ebay for 30 bucks. have to put it in sometime.

Thanks guys, man I hope its the filler neck, and hope it is easy to replace.

It most likely is, and they usually aren't to bad to do.

take the bed off, that will make it far easier. Is the truck a long bed? Short bed and long bed filler necks are different, and its usually the long bed filler necks that leak.

You have a plastic tank, so chances are that the tank is leaking is very small. The only reason why I think a plastic tank would leak is that someone physically put a hole in it or it was handled improperly.

Or hes been in some recent gun chases... O.o hehe

Any model ranger/b series can have this issue with the fuel filler neck commonly. Its got more to do with how tight clamps are on it. They cause it to wrinkle, bulge, and crack over time. Mine pisses every time I full up.

just haven't had the time to find another, or to do the job.

All good stuff from all, doesn't the local auto parts store have this part? How heavy is the bed, for removal?

yeah mine leaks really bad if i fill it till it clicks. Thats why I don't fill it all the way haha

After I changed my tank this happened to me but it was the O-ring for the fuel pump fuel level sender....but that was after having it apart and not replacing it. I found one at the Ford dealer for $5 bucks. I don't know if they go bad often if ya haven't messed with it,I never had to buy a new one on other vehicles I've worked on.

Beds easy enough to get off. Two people can do it easy.

Usually the filler neck rots out, but what your talking about sounds like a hole in the tank.

Just hope it's not like this...

Somehow my tank was melted.

cost me 600 bucks to have mine fixed.

That sounds about right for a dealership repair. My dealer wanted nearly 400 just for the part. I decided to let it leak and then found one on fleabay for 30 bucks
