FX4 Master Cylinder Install?

I'm currently trying to get the master cylinder installed on my 03' Fx4 Ranger. It has the square lip with a swash washer that goes into the square hole and then is turned 90 degrees to the right to lock in place. I cannot get enough pressure on it to accomplish this. I'm wondering whether there are any tricks to getting this master cylinder in?

Clutch master cylinder, I assume?
Last one I did was a real bear to get in and out. Make sure it's getting turned the right way.
