why not a 302?

because i already have a 351w out of my old off road vehicle. plus they make several conversion kits. and from what i have read the 351w is one of the biggest motor swaps you can do without completely modifying everything. the windsor is similiar to the 302 except the 351w is 2" taller.

9" almost finished.

i wire brushed the whole axle and all parts. then washed with gas. now i need to pickup the new brake pads and buy the gears and the rear end is done :headbang:

Lookin good man! Keep us posted!

How did you clean up the dirt and rust on the hogs head? I'm having a hell of a time getting in the crevices and whatnot.

first i went over it with a real heavy duty whire brush then i used a small light duty wire brush to get into the cracks and what not. i couldnt get everything with the smaller brush but what i couldnt get was not in a very noticable place. also i covered all my parts with that rust tough rust converter, because the wire bursh does not get into the tiny little rust pockets. plus if you missed a small spot and you spray with the rust converter it helps to sorta fix that rusted area and leave you with a paintable surface.

also make sure to wear thick clothing lol. i had a few wires come off the brush and stick me throu my shirt or shorts. lol

Oh I know how it is. I used a wire brush on the axle housing too. I got most of the pit rust off of it too.

im doing the same thing with the axles under my bronco. of course im trying to do it with out taking them out and painting it Ford blue haha

I have merged your thread together into the origional thread. If you could keep all your build up pictures and updates in this one thread it would be much appreciated.
