Full Width SAS on '90 Danger the 4th

Update

Well, i dont know how, but by word of mouth, i scored another set of 36x14.50 TSL Radials. This set has about 90% left. So now i have 8 36" TSL Radials. They are wider than i wanted, but i could not pass up the deal. So i now have 6 Good tires and 2 eh ones. I am trying to sell 2 as spares and i am going to keep 2 as spares.

TESTING Pics

Did some testing on Sunday. First day out on 36s.

The new rear leafs dont really like to work haha
RangerTest03-13-11065.jpg

I do need to stiffen the rear springs so the front does more work. You will see what i mean in the pics below.

Just some pictures i took on my property. 2 feet of snow just melted so it was soggy. The wide tires and the light Ranger work well in this situation.

Sorry, a lot of pics i know. Cant help it sometimes. I was stoked at the time.

Doing some final shock measurements

I could take it farther, but in the garage i didnt want to.

The I installed the drivers shock tower. I also put my 2003 F350 shocks on the front of it. The travel is perfect as well as the stiffness for 190lb/in coils.

As it sits now. Almost road ready!

looks like you need to trim the rear some more but other then that it looks sick. but i do prefer wide tires

The Bed is going bye bye. Know anyone that wants to buy a cap?? $80 lol

I like the wide tires until i am on a snowy highway. Then they suck lol

Iwould be puttin those 36's on that superduty

Maybe some day. I run 35s now (32s in winter) but would love to do a 6" lift and 37s lol. I would need to go to 4.10s at that point. Thats whats holdin me back.

Had some 8.8 issues but i got it all back together and its rolling again. I didnt add enough oil... oops. I have a bad vibration over 62 mph. Turns out my rear DS is too short. I measured it with the cap on. When i took the cap off, the rear went up 2" extending the driveshaft a little too much. So i ditched the 2" lift blocks for 1" blocks and it drives much better now. Still some vibrations. But now i am betting its either the tires or my eye balled alignment. Some pics of it on 1" blocks next to my SD on 35s.
I plan on taking it wheeling this weekend. But before i go, i need to cut my rear fenders and weld on the brackets i made for the arm mounts.

Rear Fenders Cut

I have a lot of updates.

I finally got around to cutting out the rear fenders for tires clearance. It turned out better than i thought. They came out prettier than i thought i could do. But they are by far from perfect. But hey, its a wheelin' truck. Who cares.

Before

This is what happens when you live in northeast Ohio. I have seen 2007 trucks (Dodge, GM, Ford, Import, it doesnt matter) with rust on the body. It sucks.

Good enough for me

First Wheelin Trip

I also went for its first wheelin trip over the Memorial Weekend.
We went to Powerline Park in SE Ohio. It is mainly for mud trucks and ATVs. I didnt think it would be too fun. But i actually found alot of cool stuff to play on! I took the truck down most of the ATV trails. It made all of the ones i tried but i did get a lot of body Damage.

Some pictures

Loading up. Dont need the ramps

But i do need the blocks so i dont smash the fenders on my bran new trailer

Tow Rigs. Thank godness we have mudders on them too

Truck Tent moved to the trailer since it was easier to level

Right off the bat i got some GOOD damage! Went up a hill and there was ledge at the top that put me into a rock. Broke the window as well.

Haha. I LOVE my garage.

The trip was a lot more fun than i expected. And you are correct, the fix for the damage is quite cheap and i can find doors for $30 if needed. But who needs doors... And the arm, it can stay how it is haha

Looks like a great time... Seeing those pictures really make me want/need to finish my truck.

Bobbed Bed

Well, i went on a wheelin trip or two and my rear bumper got hung up on all the fun obstacles. So when i got home, the back of the truck was under the knife. I cut the frame back to about 2" behind the rear shackle.

OH by the way, I wheeled with all Jeeps and the TJs were even running front radius arm set ups with rear leafs. Not 4 link front and rear. I rubbed that in haha.

Now for sliders and a rear bumper of some kind...

alright so..
you're truck looks awesome.
even the first pic back on page 1. w/ the ttb, looks awesome.
nice work. now make some tube doors for it! i've seen times where tube doors save passengers from being bashed like your door was..

Thanks man!
Yeah, it used to be a clean truck. Then it started to rust and some of my Jeep buddies talked me into one wheeling trip. Now its a trailer queen with a lot of bruises. But the goal is to get it able to go down the highway again as a DD

Tube doors are also on the list. Yeah, no doors is not too comforting on the trails. It is nice for farm work tho.

BTW, that is one clean BII you got there. Very nice
