Hello Everyone,

When I got home from work tonight I noticed the rear fuel tank strap has finally rusted through.

I bought 2 new ones from Napa and need some advice on how to replace them.

Does the tank have to be removed to replace the straps? If so and I place a jack under the tank and slowly lower it, are the wires on the top of the tank long enough that they wont disconnect when lowered?

Thanks for any help and comments!

I'm thinking (or hoping!) that since the rear strap has broke off, if I support the tank with a floor jack and a board, that if I just loosen the front strap maybe that would be just enough to be able to push the tank over to the side enough to be able to replace the rear tank strap?

Yep, just support it with a jack and a 2x4 and hold it in place while you change the straps. Don't squish it though. Good luck!
