Hi All,
New to this forum. Have 1987 Ford Ranger 2.9, 4X4 with 5 sp. Had a rough idle but ran pretty good down the road. Suddenly cut out and won’t start. Appeared to be no fuel. Sprayed Starting Fluid into breather and it ran for a little bit. No problem with spark. Checked fuel pumps, both whirring. Replaced Fuel Filter (cheapest first). Still wouldn’t start. Figured fuel pressure regulator. Looked around and found a leaking fuel line. Repaired that yesterday. I had good pressure because it took some work to stop the repair from leaking. Started once, ran up and down, seemed like it was going to cut off. Turned it off and it would not start again.
Today I picked up a T fitting to check Fuel Pressure before putting in a regulator. No fuel pressure. Turns out my fuel pumps are now DEAD. Nothing. Put in a new relay. Still nothing.
Any and all help is appreciated. Not really sure what to do next.
