Fuel Pump Questions

Well I finally got it running last night. It was the plug wires. The PO had them installed wrong. Timing will have to be adjusted but it runs. Now need to sort out why blower motor only runs on high. Instrument lights need to be replaced as only one side of dash had lights, but thats an easy fix, I'm just glad its running now. Thanks to IMenriched for all your help.

don't forget to remove the spout plug prior to setting the base timing. Kinda suspect you know that but just tossing it out there.

about the blower fan....http://www.therangerstation.com/Magazine/spring07/blower_motor_diagnosis.htm

Yes, Thank You. I do know about the SPOUT plug. But I was so excited...I didn't actually do it!! Thanks also for the link about the blower motor issue. I was thinking it was the switch itself since I had the dash taken apart to replace the dash lights I thought I may as well take the switch out and look at it. It looks like it got warm/hot a few times. I'll check the resistor...after reading the link I'm more suspect of that. Maybe thats why I had smoke coming from that side of the truck a few days back.......smelled like burning leaves or paper.
***UPDATE***
Yup....it was the resistor. 25 doll-hairs at the NAPA store. When I removed the old one, there was a dead bug stuck between the coils and yes....it smelled like burning leaves/paper. When it was idling in the driveway, it would idle for a couple minutes then die. Sometimes I was able to keep it going by tapping the throttle, otherwise it would die. Starts right up afterwards. The truck was sitting for almost 5 yrs so Im hoping its the old gas. I did pour in a bottle of Techron fuel injector cleaner and 5 gallons of fresh gas.
