I noticed that under my truck today i had a gas puddle, got up under there and looked around, didn't see anything leaking from the lines, looks like it is leaking from the pump itself, has this ever happened to anyone??
Also, while i was under there i noticed another thing? had the fuel lines running into it, looked like a short round container ( looks like it comes apart.)
is this also a fuel filter? I replaced one that is in front of the fuel pump. this is between the pump and the tank.. thanks....

the fuel filter is on drivers side, right below the door, on the frame. i dont know about the fuel pump though. i had to replace the fuel filter on my truck because it was leaking.

If you have the inline filter forward of the fuel pump I would say the round part you are seeing is an empty resivoir. If you do not have the inline filter this will be the filter.

yep that is a fuel filter and it really is the pits but it is a lot of work to replace i would also be willing to bet that you have two fuel pumps one in the tank and one on the frame in front of the fuel filter i changed mine out to a single fuel and a in line fuel filter it is a bit of work but i like it better.

Re: Fuel Pump Question....

Hello, Thanks for all of your input.. I have 2 more questions.. 1) how hard is it to take the fuel filter out that is in the picture..does it screw off? 2) I know i have a filter before the external pump, and i also see the one like in the picture. but how likely is it to have filters , one on each side of the externalpump... will the truck run properly with two fuel filters on it???
