Solid Axle Swap
Truck of Month
Here's the situation - I have my 5.0 sitting in my truck, and I'm trying to get it started. Runs fine on starting fluid. I'm not getting any fuel pressure past the regulator on the fuel rail - as in, I can prime the system, and pull the schrader valve completely out of the rail and there is nothing, no squirt of fuel, no hiss, nothing. But if I pull the pressure line off the rail right before the regulator, I get misted with 50psi fuel for as long as it takes to bleed all the pressure out.
Can a FPR just get stuck shut? That is the only thing I can think of. I don't know if it matters or not, but I got the fuel lines switched at the tank accidently, so that should have made it so both the return and pressure sides of the rail were getting fuel. Could this have destroyed the regulator?
I have tried applying vacuum to the regulator as well and it doesn't seem to have helped matters.
