Hey everyone, I was directed here via a friend of mine while I was looking for help.

I've developed a nasty gas leak at my fuel line where the quick connector is between the tank-to-frame line and the frame-to-engine fuel rail (Feed and Supply) line. It's rusty and leaking at the connector, and every dealer I've called has said that line is obsolete, pretty much unobtanium at this point...

So i've been redirected to buy stock fuel line and bend it/flare it on my own accord, I just don't really trust myself to do it 100%. I'd much prefer finding the pre-bent assembly and just installing it myself, problem is I don't know where I might find one now that I know the dealer won't be any help.

is it worth chasing junk yard cars (I'm in metro-Detroit area) so most cars that are sitting have worse lines than mine it seems.

I'm no mechanic but am not afraid to get my hands dirty if anyone has suggestions, I'm in a pinch and am supposed to be hauling stuff up north this weekend so a shop might not be able to help in time.

Thanks,

Tony

Welcome to TRS~!

I guess my first question would be did you remove the bed to access this easier or do you plan to drop the tank?

I would suggest removing the bed...it makes your life easier but it has it's own set of complications...

If you do not know how to connect fuel lines you can patch them by simply using a shor t section of fuel rated hose that fits over the two ends and you can clamp it in place...it is safer than having raw fuel spewing all over your truck and the road and will get yhou through this.

I actually ran my 88 Ranger with rubber (fuel line) hoses connecting the metal lines for about ten years and they never gave me any problems or leaks...so I can attest to this method working safely and effectively...

Just make sure the clamps are tight and they should last a long time...

Take a section of the damaged fuel line to a store and just buy about 10 to 15 feet of fuel line and about a foot or so of fuel line hose and make sure the metal line fits inside the hose tight...cut the hose to length and clamp it down on both sides...done!

If you cut the metal lines be sure to clean out any metal filings before putting it in place...

Make sure the fuel line you get is rated for efi. For your 1995 it's 40 psi.

Can you , cut out the quick connect and use a short piece of the rated hose and hose clamps? I run the line dry , by pulling the fuel pump fuse and starting. Also if the gas line is leaking, what kinda shape are the brake lines in?
