Well the spring-lock connector on my '03 is froz up, while trying to loosen it up the rubber line broke (between the coupler and filter (line goes from rubber>alum?>vinyl) my '02 donor vehicle is in the same shape. Since the female part of the spring-lock connector seems to be unavailable I'm thinking about just buying a 10' roll of Dorman 5/16" OD / 1/4" ID vinyl fuel line and going straight from my fuel filter outlet to the fuel rail, with some kind of protective covering.
Anybody did this? can I use the Dorman fuel line without the high pressure "ear clamps" (recommended by some reviewers, others say not necessary) and has anyone tried these style connectors
to connect to the (5/16") outlet on the fuel filter?
Money's a bit tight right now, but I want to do it in a safe and reliable way, so any ideas and advice would be appreciated..
