having a dumb spill. the reservoir FOTZ-9K044-A stared leaking. I know a good while back i read here something about taking it and the frame fuel pump off and putting a high press. Fuel pump in the tank, but don't remember if it was 92 or 95 explorer. And what fuel lines to used and will work with the 87 sender. I've been looking the tech section can't find it. thought i might go this rout because going to put a 4.0 in it come summer. What is it under looked in the fuel section didn't see it but i'm blind in my old aged.

The reservoir needs to stay in place with the 2 pump setup, it partially acts as a buffer so that that the high pressure pump doesn't starve for fuel.

If you go with the single pump, you need to get high pressure rubber hose, splice and extend the nylon factory ones, factory steel lines off a newer truck... or you could use 3/16 steel brake line... I did that in a buddy's race truck, it's kind of a PITA and rust could be an issue. Just don't use any old rubber hose because the cheap fuel hose isn't designed for high pressure.

what year

what year dose the gen-2 start for the high press. pump. Is it 92 or 95 i think i would like to go to the one high press pump. Fuel hose is no problem i have some 5/6 and 3/8 high press fuel hose that's good for 3,000 psi. we use on back hoe's with high press fuel rail systems. just need to know what year of pump to buy. thanks

I believe 89 was the first year for that. Use just the pump, the sending unit from an '89-up till when ever will probably fit your tank but the ohm range is not the same as 88 and older so your gauge won't work.

thanks

Thanks guys, for your help.
