Good morning everybody happy Friday. I just had a quick question about fuel injectors on the 4.0 OHV V6 1990 Ford ranger I have one injector that’s leaking and I was just going to replace the O-rings. Should I replace O-rings on that one or all of them?

If one is bad, it's not too far of a stretch to assume that the others are probably getting ready to also be bad.

I'd do them all.

How would you know that the fuel injectors are bad/going bad without tearing the engine apart? Is there like a way to tell?

Also, get 6 of the kits with the pintle caps. They're rotten by now too.

And you say an injector is leaking, is that at the o-rings or through the injector?

Eaisest way is to prime the fuel pump by turning the key on and off and checking the plugs to see which ones are wet

Perfect, thank you I appreciate the input. I was also wondering would you know anything about a ticking noise coming from a leaking injector if that would be possible or would it be a lifter rocker arm push rod situation?

It’s leaking from the top side of the injector, the one furthest to the back closest to the firewall you can feel the fuel pumping out when the truck is an idle.

Yep, sounds like an o-ring. You'll have them all out when you pull the rail anyway.

Would an Leaking injector cause a ticking noise?
These older injectors are known to tick anyways. Not a super reliable method to tell i dont think
