Ran into an issue with the wiring harness for the fuel injector,s. A lot of breaks and frayed wires have been found. The question now is a replacement available or can these connectors be rebuilt. Dirty

The connectors themselves are easy to get and widely available.

A whole replacement harness will not be available new, but would not be terribly hard to build if you had all the connectors and the correct diagrams.

Any recommended source

I believe BWD makes the fuel injector connectors, which may be the same as the SPOUT connector. They should also have the IAT connector. The IAC connector is shared with quite a few Fords. I'm not 100% sure where to source new connectors for the main harness connection, the EGR, or the TFI.

Well I got the injector harness fixed without to much fuss. The wire is a bit hard to solder. There are three wires for it. Brown, brown with black strip and a black one. The black Is common to all six injectors. I believe this to be ground (-). It was broke at the main connector. Its a wonder it ran at all. Dirty

The common line is power. The computer will ground the brown wires to fire the two batches of injectors.

I don't know how this thing ran. I must have broke all the way when I removed it. It had rust build up in the fuel rail and the screens in the injectors were packed full. Dirty

Rust build up in the raid clogging the injectors is a common thing to run into on the 2.9s. It was common enough before E10. The ethanol just makes it worse.

When I install the injectors in the manifold and the fuel do I need to lubricate them (o ring) or is it a compression fit. Looked though the manual and nothing is mentioned. Dirty

You need to lubricate them. My preferred choices are PAG oil and WD-40 in that order. They will lube the seals, won't swell the rubber, and won't clog the injector or foul plugs.

I finished the injectors, The PAG oil worked perfect. They slipped right in. Now for all the sensors and EGR system. Dirty
