I've got Mile Marker manual hubs on my 93 Ranger and my wheel beraing "jam nut" won't stay tight. I tighten the bearing up right, tighten my jam nut and a week later my bearing is loose again. Just seems to happen on drivers side. Any ideas? I'm also still getting the fine metal shavings inside my pass. side hub and on the tip of the axle. I cannot figure out where its coming from. I'm trying to take my hub apart, I took the snap ring & retaining ring out but nothing seems to come apart. Any ideas there? I'm getting my a$$ kicked today...

Only suggestion I have for the wheel bearing lock nut is tighten it down to 250 foot pounds. Fords recomended 150 foot pounds just isnt anywhere near enough.

On your stubshaft, do you have the washer and splined washer with the c-clip that holds the axleshaft and keeps it from walking into the splindle. Thats the only thing that I can think would cause metal shavings in the hub. If the splines arent full engaging the hub splines you may be spinning the shaft in there.
