I`ve got a 1984 ford bronco 2 that i been trying to get all the oil leaks fixed in for a customer. 2.8L. main leak was the front oil seal. tried new seal. same leak. Had rear main, intake, valve covers, fuelpump, all leaking too. Customer wanted them all fixed. Removed engine and resealed entirely. Also new crank and rod bearings. Amazingly the old bearings were in pretty good shape. Crank as well. Of course torqued all pertinent items to spec. All dry now except for front oil seal. Runs good and no knocks. checked cover for porosity and made shur seal was set back far enough. went thru several seals to notice that they are wearing on left side and leaking out right side. finally noticed that cover isn`t centered to crank. pulled cover and you can see the warp. had to get a used cover. it`s better but still can see that the cover isn`t centered to crank. all cover bolts line up and pan as well. It`s gonna leak too. crank runs true and smooth. Anyone out there had this problem? Also tried redi sleeve and another balancer prior to engine reseal.
