Hey guys,
I'm somewhat new to off-roading so I'm looking for some input here.

I'm going to be doing a SAS on an 84 Ranger that will be strictly a crawler/trail rig. I'm not really looking for lift but rather flex and articulation.

Front axle will be a fullwidth D44 HP, rear will be a 9" with 63" Chevy springs.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Any help appreciated.

Fred

here is my thought but your rear is going to be leafs right so im think so should the front imean what ever your front gets over you want your rear to get over as well so if the rear is leafs so should the front you def get more flex and ride quality out of coils but your rear is still going to be leafs so just cuz the front and flex awsome your rear is still limited by leafs just a thought

wtf????

Look into 44044's, they are wagoneer springs. (I think that is correct, someone telll me if I got the number wrong

look up nmb2's build thread....nice cost effective setup...

ride quality and flex can be had on both sides pretty easily

I had seen the 44044 springs mentioned in another thread after extensive reading. I'm also considering the 52" chevy spring from the rear of a K5 Blazer or the rear springs from a fullsize Bronco. I found the 52" spring locally from a friend for free. Anyone ever heard of or used these?

used them in the front of a K-5 blazer. rides descent with minimal tuning but thats alot heavier rig than yours

Heres a thought if your doing 63s out back use you stock ranger leaves up front. Ive seen a guy guys do it and it didnt work bad at all.

here is my thought, your rear is going to be leafs, right?

so I think so should the front, I mean, whatever your front gets over, you want your rear to get over as well..... so if the rear is leafs, so should the front.

you def get more flex and ride quality out of coils, but your rear is still going to be leafs.... so just cuz the front will flex awsome your rear is still limited by leafs

just a thought

punctuation goes a long way to help people understand......

as for leaves being a limiter to flex....

I think if done properly they flex just fine.....

and yes they are 4 door Ex leaves up front.....no issues with trips to Badlands and Turkey Bay:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

as far as the leaves go:icon_twisted::thefinger::thefinger:
