did some searching, didn't find what i need. have a 95 ranger 5.0 and SAS need to know what you guy use for a front shaft with a 98 f150 elec t-case?

thanks, Erik

nobody? what drive shaft with a double cardan joint at the t-case will fit???

Whatever shaft you can find that has the ujoint sizes on both ends should do.

Remember, it's cheaper to shorten one then extend one.

ujoints aren't the problem, it's the small 4 bolt flange on the 4406 i am having trouble with. i put a 98 f150 front shaft in it to try and because of the angles it vibrates like crazy when in 4wd

thanks, Erik

Have you tried a double cardain?

And how fast are you going in 4wd? Sounds like stuff is binding up on you.

Also see if adjusting the angle of your pinion helps, if you can do it without having to rotate stuff like knuckles.

Since you have the correct flange on the Tcase side, take a double cardian joint and install the flange on it. You may have to get it resized, or even a custom one built if that don't work....

time to bust out the plas cutter and grinder... neapco makes a double cardan head that will fit but for 200.00 plus i think i can make flange to adapt the two together

thanks, erik

Grab a stock front shaft from a ranger, and use the dc off it, much cheaper...

won't fit the transfer case flange since the ranger uses a ujoint type and the f150 is a 4 bolt flat flange

time to find a full size bronco t-case and swap rear drive shafts again, then the front shaft from the dodge ram will bolt right in

No, find a ranger front shaft, take the double cardian joint from that shaft and install the 4406 Tcase side flange onto the double cardian, saving you the $$ from buying a double cardian...

i have the original ranger front shaft and the shaft from the 97 f150 that the t-case came from.... can't swap the t-case flange. what shaft for a 4406 came with a double cardain? i have looked through all the front shafts i have at the yard and none have the small flange on them

thanks, Erik

Starting in 97 all f150 and expeditions used the ifs differential that is stationary, so the double cardian joint is no longer needed as there is no travel like previous years. Superduties however, do have a traveling front axle, and those would be your best bet...

i will look into that... didn't think they would have the small bolt pattern at the t-case
