it always boggles me as to why people refuse to do what is necessary to relocate and fit an overkill radiator.
in a strip truck or street truck its negligible i suppose to an extent as to time...or rather perceived time and effort saved by fitting something basically bolt in, we talk our selves into it.
some time reworking the core support to fit a decent radiator and cooling fan is effort well spent. but not always necessary.
And Bobby. Ya I have a fox body stang rad in here now that only works cause of the body lift and bracket I made but bow that lift comes out I look cool look of factory fit and the super cooling idled in driveway at 85 degree day for 35 min no heat up thanks to fan. But I could see the point with u 4x4 guys lots of rpm's and not much air flow. And my trucks DD so if I can get AC and condenser with the explorer Rad and 5.0 explorer accessories for cheap and easy the. Its perfect for me. Thanks for input
PS any ranger station guys in upstate that want goo deals on parts let me know. Let u in on what I like to call "my little golden junkyard". I'm talking wicked deals. Explorer 31 spline 8.8 with lockers and disk breaks complete for 70 and 5.0s from throttle body to oil pan for 146 no matter what. Just u pull it awesome place.
I had some cooling troubles with mine out of the hole in the summer, but I rearanged the tranny coolers and tinkered with the timing and fuel and it went away.
I could do whatever over the summer after that was ironed out and it never had a problem. I could drive the thing around town in 100+ degree weather as long as I could stand and as long as my electric fan was running I was good to go.
I went with the Explorer radiator because I had one and figured I ain't out anything at all if it won't cut it... and I have had no complaints that I can blame on it. If I do I will take the steps needed to fix it but until then I am not fixing something that doesn't need fixed.
Air conditioning (which I do not have) could change things though...
