i bought a fram air hog filter for $20 brand new on clearance, it was originally $55........does any1 run that filter? do u like it?

Unless you find a way go get 7,000 rpm out of your engine the stock air cleaner will do as much or maybe even MORE for your ride than ANY fancy, advertised PERFORMANCE air cleaner... SAVE your money.

I used to run one that I bought at the local store for $3.99 (open box clearance), couldn't resist. I doesn't do a damn thing and in theory it shouldn't. It's just a filter not a supercharger:icon_rofl:

I totally agree!!

You will be able to clean it, save on rep filter costs.

Well, yes you MUST clean it... Ever wonder where the oil you leave in it goes? Ever wonder WHY one must oil them filters?
Because the HOLES in them to let the air thru are LARGER than in OEM filters. So the THEORY is by oiling the filter media the oil will catch the larger particles of DIRT that an OEM filter catches without oiling.
Now when that oil gets sucked into the throttle body, and the filter is no longer working as designed, DIRT follows into the IAC and such which in turn clings to the oiled parts gumming up what a OEM filter would keep clean.. Or best case, wearing out parts that an OEM filter would protect.
