I found these while looking for parts for the ranger I may go over to a 2.3 ecoboost or a built turbo duratec. If I remember correctly 2.3 duratec and and 2.3 ecoboost use the same bell I could be wrong but I wanna stick with a T5 since I have a few lying around for svo and v8 website

https://www.rwdmotorsport.com/product/duratec-engine-to-ford-gearbox-cable-clutch-bellhousing/

If the mods wanna Put these pics with links where they should go. They are for 2.3 duratec to borg Warner or tremec t5s they have other stuff on here also.

Yes, 2.3l Duratec and 2.3l Ecoboost use same bell housing pattern

Need the clutch fork and throwout bearing and an external slave

2.3l Duratec flywheels were used with M5R1 manuals in Rangers, not sure what pressure plate is used in that conversion

They sell a whole kit and have the relevant info listed on the site. I'm gonna start looking for an ecoboost from a wrecked S550.

The question I have is will the T5 be able to handle the power output of a 2.3 ecoboost? Stock, they put out 270 to 310 horsepower, depending on which tune they have.

That's gonna depend on tires, how you drive etc. From a dig with slicks on a sticky track.... No not long. But they have taken a beating for years. That also means a tko, tkx, and some others will bolt up also, so you can see the benefit but it's an aluminum bell, so obviously, you are taking a risk with high power/tourqe builds but a street truck with about 270-450hp should be fine. My 5.0 make about 300hp 310tq in the fox it holds up. My ranger makes about the same and I beat the dog sit out of it for years now and the bell and trans is my last concern.

Depends on how you drive it. A turbo 2.3 from the 80s making 170 hp can break them if you drive it rough.

There are lots of different T5 out there. Turbo 2.3 ones from the 80s had lower 1st gear than those behind 5.0s, not to mention world class vs non.

Horsepower isn't the problem - torque is. If you leave your 2.3 Ecoboost stock (310ft.lb) and use 5.0 T5 (300ft.lb rating) you'll be OK, it you drive it nice (no power shifts, etc). <Don't use high torque in 5th, teeth for OD are small and therefore weak>

If you're worried about holding up under power - replace the fill plug with a temp sensor. If temp starts climbing, use 4th.

Hello, I am lost. I was about to use the RWDmotorsports bell, but it's aluminum. The QuickTime is steel. I just worry about my legs and clutch/fly breaking-up.
am I wrong, should I be concerned?
They both seem good

Back in the day, there were transmission blankets to contain explosions. I don't know if they are still used.
