My wife’s sport trac has been slowly falling apart for some time now and I have been casually looking for a replacement... well I found one locally and couldn’t be happier!
Found this 05 sport trac with 144k on the clock and a bad engine!
Got it for a stupid deal and now it’s time to hunt for an engine!

I look forward to seeing what you do with this one.

Nothing wrong with stupid deals, as long as they are in your favor. Congrats on the find.

It was a good deal on my end... the poor girl I got it from bought it for $4500 and 2 weeks later the “rebuilt” motor that was in it threw a timing chain.

Plans are for a 4.5 inch super lift, 33’s, steel bumpers and 16” pro comp wheels.... for starters lol
If you can find a Superlift kit. Been out of production for a while. Torsion twist, Warrior rear shackles, and a Performance Accessories body lift. Chevy S-10 tow hooks will work with the body lift without cutting the valence.

Believe it or not I actually found a brand new super lift kit with the knuckles. Ended up using the rear tapered lift blocks on my ranger since my pinion angle was so bad. No worries tho, sport trace need a spring over and that adds quite a bit of lift with just that! Lol

I’ll probably end up doing a 302 at some point... it’s just a lot harder with the 05 RBV’s.

It’s funny that you sent that to me. My step dad is a moderator on the serious explorations forum and he is the one that has taught me everything I know about these trucks! His tag is 410Fortune

I remember the name. I used to be a Moderator in the Sport Trac forum there but I went back to school and life got in the way so it's one of the things I gave up, along with being a full-time Moderator here. I had two Rangers but then my kids got too big so from 2005 until last month I had two Sport Tracs and now I'm back to a Ranger. The main Sport Trac board is www.sporttrac.org

Unfortunately the sport trac has hit the back burner for a bit. My main tow rig broke down and has cost me a small fortune to fix. Will be getting back to it soon, but have to recover from the hefty repair bills! Lol
