im thinking if i clean around the stove first and then push everything towards the middle of the garage i can get the back of my truck inside the garage and start a fire while i do the hose and then bleed it, then once the truck is done i can shut the door and put the top end back together on the little polaris 90 atv that my neighbor dropped off for me to fix about a year ago. finally got the piston, rings, and gasket kit for it and i had the machinist at work hone the cylinder for me so i should have good compression again and hopefully i will finally be able to call it done and give it back so i can get paid!

sounds like a fun new years to me. I'm planing on trying to stay dry down in Pittsburgh for the winter classic.. gotta love hockey to be in the rain to watch it...

i think this will be an easier project that the one i did 2 new years ago, when i burned my throat with that bolt and then put the engine in thumper with the help of my youngest brother. since all my friends were out celebrating while i was in the garage toiling with my truck, i was proabably the only one who didnt wake up with a head ache the next day (more like a sore throat).

heres the bracket i made last night, its a little over kill but thats how i like to do things.

Would ya mind giving the part numbers for all the stuff that ya did to get extended brake lines in the front because I'm on a budget and don't wanna go spend 110$ on skyjacker lines.

ill see if i can dig up the part numbers, i got everything from work and all the fittings and hoses are from Allstar (www.allstarperformance.com).

i got the hose on today, but things didnt go exactly as planned. i went up to work this morning and shot some primer and paint on the bracket and then used a heat gun to make it dry faster. Whe i got home i jacked it up and got the bracket and T fitting mounted to the diff and then threaded all the lines into it, but when i tightened the brake line to AN adapter fitting instead of getting a snug seal i felt a pop and my wrench spun. i stripped it out, damnit. luckily i had brought home another style T and was able to finish the job. Oh yeah, did i mention it was wet out?

After driving around for a few days and "testing" the brakes ive concluded that the pedal feel is much better (firmer) than it previously was and i now have more confidence when braking. I would recommend braided steel lines to anyone who wants to improve their braking system and gain a firmer, more instant pedal feel.

so ive had the urge to mod something lately, so today i decided to make a winter grill for my truck. i live less than 10 miles from work so by the time i get there my truck is just getting warmed up, so i decided to take the grill off my parts truck and make some block off panels for 3 of the slots. heres the pics so far (the fresh black paint is drying right now), i used bondo paddles for the block off pieces and a soldering iron to make the holes for the zip ties.

I know your brake lines are stainless. I want to get some for my 02 F-150 if they make them. Did you convert it to rear discs as well? How diffacult was the brake line install after the fitting fiasco?

i did not convert the rear to discs, but with the stainless lines the drums feel much more "active" than before. the brake line/ fitting fiasco went ok, it was just a bump in the road and i think it was disapointing more than anything because i took the time to gather my parts days before hand (unlike most of the customers i deal with all day), i took the time to build and paint that bracket for the special brass fitting, then i get it all put together and strip out the last fitting i had to install........ frustrating!
