ForOffRoadDriving's 94 Ranger Build

sorry i havent been to work in 3 days, i had a long weekend (i just stopped up here today for some more parts). ill have more pics up tomorrow of the stuff i got done to the truck.

its cool man just curious want to do my truck next?

im back from my long weekend and i brought with me some pictures for show and tell. i spent two of my three days working on other peoples cars in order to pay for more parts and for my alignment, which will hopefully be done by the end of the day. on saturday afternoon and into the hours of darkness i finished wiring my over head lights and got them aimed where i want them. on sunday i went to the junk yard and scored a few good pieces, including a Parker ink pen that was in an explorer which was tucked away in the glove box with the original owners manual and reccomended service schedule. i also got 2 tow hooks off from an expedition, 1 warn manual hub (to match the one i found last time), 2 front mudflap brackets off from a 95 ranger, some misc. wiring and connectors, and some bolts and sparkplug wire separators. after unloading my treasure i started working on the truck getting the new leveling springs installed, only to find out that they didnt make it much taller than it was. i then switched wheels and tires with my brother so i would have a straight set of wheels to get my alignment done on. with a few hours remaining before bedtime, i decided to mount another set of lights since i already had the switch wired up from the pair of hellas i previously had mounted on the stock bumper. im satisfied with the outcome and cant wait till we get some dense fog to try them out in. i think that about sums up my weekend, now on to the pictures!

Longer shocks were needed because the stock shocks had almost no down travel with the spacer i had previously installed and i was anticipating 1.5-2" more spring height WTF!

i took the truck to get a bath and to get some taco bell after installing the "new tires" and it rides real smooth and drives straigh as an arrow

i took this pic this morning when it was already pretty light out. theyre cool because unless youre standing 20-30 feet away you cant even tell theyre there.

what did you do with your old wheels and tires?

for the time being i put them on my brothers truck since its STILL broke (driveshaft). i think they look sweet on his truck and now hes probably going to paint these white ones black when i give them back.

were slowly going through the engine bay and cleaning it up, we wrinkle painted his brake booster, cruise control, and wiper motor, plus i replaced all of his vaccum lines and were installing full accel ignition on it (coil, wires, cap and rotor, and platinum plugs) and at that time we will remove the upper intake and valve covers in order to paint them and install perma-dry plus valve cover gaskets.

i got some more pictures of the fog lights once my boss went home for the day. they look like the bumper blocks the light, but it actually allows just the right amount of light to get out there without shining up into the air too much. there is also a loud surprise hiding behind the grille that ive been sporting for a couple of days now.

got my alignment today, heres the print out on what went on......... it doesnt look like things were that far off, but it still drives straight and that makes me happy!

The rear didnt change, just the ones that were in red were adjusted to be within spec. Rearends are never perfect.

i got the shaft! wait.....ummm... i mean i got the drive shaft for my brothers truck! cash for clunkers was a sad program, just look at this 92 ranger for example. it only had 115,xxx miles on it but some kid probably wanted a honda with a big shiny fart can on it and he clunkered it. that 2.9l could have given any one of us 200k+ miles of enjoyment but now its just a parts truck. surprisingly for being a michigan truck it had little rust underneath and i was able to remove the shaft with a 12 point 12mm wrench and my boot (the rubber mallet i brought just wasnt big enough).

i offered 100$ for the shaft and they wanted to know what it was off from, but i said im offering $100 again. if i told them what it was off from and they wanted more $ then theyd just take it back, but if i didnt tell them and i had 100$ in my hand i knew theyd take it. now i just have to help karl put a clutch in his truck (it doesnt really need it yet, but he already bought it so we might as well do it while theres no snow on the ground) and he'll be back on the road.

100$ For that shaft?

Hell. I paid 25$ for one the other day at a U-Pull-It

100 for that shaft? damn thats alot i cant get them for 30 bucks

Rattle can your roof! Make it an even shade of blue and prevent rust! And were aliens trying to abduct your truck:icon_confused:

But seriously those pens and cool and I'm liking the light set up you got. With my new bumper I have to move my lightforces so I'm thinking of leaving the tabs on my bumper and putting little yellow/orange fog lights there beside the main sides of the bumper at the inside bottom corners of the headlights.
