fords gotta step it up

This has been discussed several times on this site. The Ranger is gone very soon and there will be a new F100 single cab and crew cab coming out in about 1-2 years. It wil look a lot like this:

That is just a photoshop someone did a while back from a Ford Escape. Not bad looking but pretty sure that is not anything that came from Ford.

This is really close to what the new F100 will look like. There have been sightings on the road of the F100 (spy shots) and the truck is of course covered up pretty good but my brother-in-law (who works for Ford for over 25 years now)) told me to expect it to look pretty much like this. This photo is supposed to be from Ford Motors so I can't wait to see what it will look like with the crew cab!!!
My brother-in-law said it might be delayed for 1 year due to the newer type of motor Ford wants to add for this new truck. Better, more hp? Just think...if we had more money we could buy that new crew cab 411 hp Raptor model for 2011.

If money only grew on trees!!! lol

I don't know that Ford knows what the new truck is going to be named, they come up with so many versions and designs. Last I heard was from July 28 this year with the F-100 truck and a Bronco version. 3.5 twin turbo and a V-8 option. Cross your fingers and hope for the best!

I can see the F100 coming back, the old ones were neat, hopefully they will come back with the F100 Custom too.

Older Couriers were pretty much Rangers, bodywise, the newer ones look like small Kia's.

So what is the Ranger they are going to release in 2011, is it anything special?

Actually the older Courier was more USEFUL than a Ranger. Especially the rope hooks on the bed, and no stupid high geared reverse!

Stake pockets work just fine for me... so does the somewhat rust resistant double wall bed.

Never had a problem with the reverse... but I have an automatic.

I like retro, seems like the best looking vehicles have already been made. Can't say I care I like too many of the proposals that people have came up with for the next Ranger. Heck, the 12 year old Ranger is the best looking truck in the Ford lineup IMO.

Well, it's not to say that I dislike the designs of some retro vehicles. After all, I do have a '99 Mustang, which by definition is retro styled. I even like the design of the '05-'09 Mustangs a great deal and the '10+ Mustangs just slightly less.

I just wish they would come up with fresh, good looking designs instead of rehashing what has already been done.

the new colorado has a 5.3 option 300 hp and like 320 tqr, wheres the v8 option for the rangers or at least turbo the 4.0 as painful as it is for me to say the rangers the low man on the totem pole when you compare it to the other STOCK mid size trucks...
praise be to ford bring the cyotee to the ranger....
