Ford, this needs to happen!

looks more like an early bronco than a Jeep... which gives it an extra cool factor. Plus that would be a nice bit of competition to Jeep for the offroading community.

It looks like the 2004 Bronco concept... Oh wait, it is.

it is happening, should be about late 2015, those pics are the 2004 concept though, the prototype has been released and looks like this:

possible 4 door variation, allthough now that I look at it after posting, it looks very photoshopped

It is a cross between the early Bronco and a Jeep. The cost will be well over $60,000 if it got produced. It is like my dad spending the $45,000+ on the new POS 2010 Raptor he bought that broke on him several times when he wanted to take it off road towing his boat to the boon docks. Two motors replaced, two trans replaced and the right rear frame damage that Ford refused to cover since my dad took it off road. My dad had to get a lawyer after Ford. All this happened with under 30,000 miles. He now has a great Chevy 4x4 crewcab that has over 25,000 miles and has never had any issues.

Sorry weezl, its not going to happen. Those pics are from an article Fourwheeler released on April 1 2014...

Yeah, for the $50-60k they would think it is worth they can keep the technological marvel.

And the Edge is surprisingly not that bad offroad once you kill the TC. I took a wrong turn right before Christmas and ended up taking my GF's 08 AWD down a mud road (it was snowing so visbility wasn't great and we didn't know we were in it until the thing dropped as the gravel went to mud)

It wanted to go the left ditch, I tried to steer out of it. I could feel it wanting to fight bad but it was like every other punch was it hitting itself in the face. Got it straddling the edge of the ditch, stopped and hit the button... then it had a pair. My "stupid" trucks wouldn't have tried to ditch me like that. I am glad it had a full kill on it though, some don't. Got it backed around and drove out back out the way we came in, rammed a hunk of steel through a tire so I got to lay in the muddy gravel road in the snowstorm and change a tire in the dark with the POS stock jack and wrench but we didn't get stuck and the tire light didn't come on until we got out. :dntknw:

Considering the rather weak highway tires (Destination LE) it had/has I was pretty impressed. My stomach dropped when we hit mud, I knew were screwed and I was a long ways away from either of my capable 4x4s... but it held its own.

The "Bronco Concept" pics based on the F-150 was from someone's April Fools joke last year, I forget if it was fourwheeler or who did it but it was a magazine.

As for the Raptor, they sell like hotcakes. No real problems in my area with them per my Sr Master Tech little bro.

Just gonna pop your bubble. The bronco will not be making a return anytime soon. If someone wants an 4x4 suv they'll buy an expedition or an explorer.

I might have to get an expy and cut it up, slap a superduty front clip on it and call it my 15 bronco...

Sounds like a great way to build a one of a kind off-roader. I personally think that a good group of us aught to get together and start a new motor company. Build everyone's favorite concepts and charge accordingly. Basically like a rebuilder such as Shelby.

Yeah, lets worry about getting them to put some intelligence into the design of the engines before we worry about a two door SUV that won't sell because it only has two doors.

These morons are building, and mass-producing, interference engines that do not have a keyed crank. The timing sprocket is interference fit and the crank pulley is held to that with a freaking diamond-encrusted washer. RETARDS!!!

If it does happen it will have a Egoboost 4 or 6 cylinder in it.
But don't worry...if you can afford the higher end models you will get the awesome "Active Noise Control" or "order content" option.
And all that option does is pumps V8 engine noise through your speakers!
Varoom Varoom!

I never thought I would see the day that speakers is a replacement for displacment!

Edit to add:
Yes it is fact....It is on the new F150 and mustangs.
Welcome to the new world boys...................

I would drop back to the pre-drive-by-wire days. The teksid/terminator days...
