I predict that some type of Ford Ranger will return within the next 5 years. Its the best small size truck you can buy and with gas prices going up it makes to mucg sense.:icon_bounceblue:

Meh, maybe I they drop the 3.7 v6 in it. But it's not cost effective. I don't see it coming back within 5 years.

I just can't believe how much they cost new when its cheaper to buy a used one and fix it up.or the f150s are somewhat in the same price range. Hell I drive an 86 ranger and its running strong. It just amazing how much the mark up is. The ranger is an amazing platform that will be missed. Hopefully they will come to their sences and bring it back but better pricing!

they think it's messing with their best selling truck series sales. re-name it the F-100 or something.
could even name them whole different trucks... 4 cyl std cb/short beds could be f-50's

std cab/short bed v6's could be f-75's

all ext cabs f-100's

Thats way To many names. F100 ftw.
They dont have different names for different f150's so why would they for a midsize pickup? Lol that'd just be weird.

since the F-series line is already two completely separate truck lines, i doubt they would bring the ranger back in the form of another F-series truck line. Doing so would completely counter the entire reason the ranger was eliminated.

Forget about there ever being a new ranger. speculating isn't going to change Fords mind, it's already been made up.

Dream all you want...it is gone forever......My brother-in-law has worked for Ford for over 25 years and he told me 4 years ago the Ranger will be gone by December 2011. The St Paul, Minnesota plant is closing for ever.

I guess rangers will eventually be classics at this rate lol.

It would be smart to do a complete redesign, and market it at a lower price bracket regardless of the naming scheme. It's a strong platform, but if they do bring it back I don't know if they'd offer the bigger engines in order to not compete with their main f lines. Might not even offer 4x4 but who knows.

For the foreseeable future the ranger it's discontinued, by they do have the European platform so it's not totally gone. Not sure if that one has anything on common with the stateside version besides the name but it's something...

Mazda did it with the B-series, i think they should use engine size like mazda did too. I really like knowing what motor they have just by looking at it, makes it easier when shopping and a seller is nice enough to not disclose any significant info.

Mazda also only had the one truck lol. They didn't have a full size, and a heavy duty.

Doesn't seem like too many names, sounds way better then B4000, B3000, And b2300/b2500, and would further strengthen the F-Series name. they need to update the ranger with newer engines and lengthen the extended cabs a few inches and add in a back seat. i'd rather get one then the ugly canyons, s10's, and gas hog Dakotas.

i don't see why they want everyone to have an f-150. sometimes people just don't need something that big. like me, i'm not going to be hauling that many things, and it will mostly be driven on the roads with a little off-roading. an f150 was too overkill. even if they do get the same gas mileage.

It's a nice dream. But if you want a new one, you'll have to buy it overseas. It's done in the US and they'll never revive it. Yea, I think that sucks. I don't want a F-150 with the ecoboast-fuel guzzler engine in it, I want a small truck made in the USA that is not GM or Dodge. I want a blue oval.

I would love a EcoBoost with a 6speed, in a stripped down truck. Best of all worlds, decent gas mileage, fun to drive, easy to park, and still be able to haul what ever you need to on a daily basis (While giving the camaro in the next lane a run for it's money) But i feel they should keep it the same size or shrink it a little, small trucks have grown to much already, if you want a bigger truck that what an f150 is for.

I don't think you can shrink the ranger much more lmao.
Really, I think an ecoboost 4 banger and the 3.7 v6 would be perfect engines for this mythical ranger lol
