Ford saw that they weren't making any money off of Rangers. The last major upgrades were the front suspension in '98, then the Duratec engine after 2001. Look at the links posted above, and in 2002 it was something like 118k f-150's to 33k Ranger's being sold. It seems to me that they tried again with the FX4 LVLII packages in what, 2006-2008? And it obviously didn't save sales.
do a full remodel, the sales will come back... not a change the hood change the grill, change the badges bullshit... give it a full redesign and new engine lineup, people will buy rangers again, gauranteed! but, they won't do it for atleast a few years...
this really makes me want to go to south america and go buy a global ranger... i took a look at the canadian laws, it is possible for someone to get a "brand new" vehicle from south america into canada, it's just difficult and rather expensive... but i would LOVE to have the only global ranger in north america... we shall see what happens if my dad moves to peru... might have to buy a vehicle and have him drive it for 6 months
