Ford Escort mirrors on a Ranger

Is this hard to do? I have a 89 ranger with the pivoting mirrors... And they SUCK! Every time someone closes my doors, or i hit a bump, the mirrors move lol. And without power windors or anything its real anoying to have to roll down the passenger window just to fool around with it almost daily sometimes.

And if this will be difficult, can you guys think of a way i could strengthen the mirrors or something so they dont move on me? They are so small that idk if anything is possible... Just crappy old styles i guess... :/

It's really not that hard, just remember that the Escort mirror base is not as long as the bolt holes on the Ranger door. The worst part is routing the wires, just look your truck over good and plan your switch location and wire routes. Those escort mirrors are getting harder to find, but us 1ST AND 2ND gen. Ranger owners don't have a lot of options. I got tired of passing trucks and my mirrors blowing around. Of coarse I have owned mine for 19 years and 3 set of factory mirrors drove me crazy. So no more problems and I can move on to another project, hmmm maybe power windows and locks.
