Ford 4.0 engine paint

Does anyone have a source for the grey engine paint ford uses on the early 4.0.I called the dealer to buy some and they dont keep it and they informed me I could order some but I had to order a case of 24 cans I think it was that amounted to a couple hundered dollars.No thanks I told them.I know someone has to have a source where you dont have to buy a case of it.

i would suppose old ford grey would be close, unless the original color was just ford grey, which is a little darker. plastikote and duplicolor both make spray bomb applications and POR 15 also makes engine enamel in ford grey color.

The grey Ford used on the 4.0 is actually quite different(darker)than what they used on the US motors like the 302 or 351W.It would figure I prefer the darker grey which is harder to get as I think Ford is the only place you can get it.The plasticoat brand is the brand I have used in the past but as I said I prefer the look of the original color and would rather use it if I can get it reasonable.
