I need to know if a 3.0 litter flywheel is compatible with a 2.3 engine.

Quick and dirty way to figure out if parts are compatible: Go to a parts store website and see if the part numbers are the same. Napaonline.com is showing different part numbers for a 2.3 flywheel and 3.0 flywheel. So, I'm going to say that no, it won't work.

Rock Auto has different part numbers. What year/model are you trying to put parts on?

The bolt patterns are probably different, if nothing else. That would make it very hard to bolt the flywheel to the engine.

Sorry I forgot the rangers engine specs, the 2.3 is in a 97, and the 3.0 is from a 94. Hope that helps.

flywheels are counter balanced differently just find a flywheel for the 2.3 you will be better off

It seems that the diameter of the two is the same but everything else is different. Question solved.
