4.0 add that to the tech page. Thats really handy info

I just ordered the Depo FO3115114
which is an aftermarket direct replacement for the Taurus 3.8L fan.. same airflow and all.

can get them for around $78 on Amazon and eBay

Hehehe.... I just looked it up on Amazon, and they informed me that:

This does not fit your:
1989 Ford Mustang

Wanna make a bet Amazon?

IKR... it's gonna fit my B2!

and I'll add it to the tech page once I see it moving tons of air like the Taurus fan... don't wanna spread the word to much till I can see it :icon_thumby:

How much did you pay for said fan?

I really don't remember exactly, it was 6 to 7 years ago. But it was around $175 with shipping.

I should remind you, it came with Ford Ranger Factory Brackets (completely bolt in), and it came with the fully adjustable controller.

The Ranger came with a factory e-fan at some point? Which model?

Posting whilst sitting upon the throne, literally.

I just looked at my friends truck, his has a heavy duty cooling system. It has a mechanical fan, but it also has an electric fan in front of the mechanical fan. Its actually in the fan shroud and really difficult to see. I've seen this truck since it was new and I never noticed the fan. Any way its an Auxiliary Cooling fan NOT the main cooling fan

He told me that the electric fan only turns on when the engine is fully warmed up and the AC is on.

I just learned something

That flex a lite for the ranger is an aftermarket upgrade. They offer efans for some vehicles that never came with them. It's just a package unit to upgrade it all.

If you're wanting the lazy way out, it's actually a good deal. Granted ill have less than that in my fan install, it won't be bolt in.

I think some 4cyl trucks did, mainly for the A/C. Maybe it went over into other engines too. IIRC it was more of an assist thing for the AC than for primary engine cooling. It would probably still help even if you didn't have A/C though.

they make a nice fan i got one on my ranger that is the clutch type. from what i noticed it does not cool it any more then the stock plastic one!

if looking to run cooler in that kind of heat try a lower temp t-stat and see how that works for you? or replace the clutch in the fan it self? if running a 195 *f thermostat or t-stat you mite want to try a 185*f or even 175 *f t-stat just remember the colder you run it the more gas you will burn! it effects millage unless running a chip then a lower t-stat is a must so not to over heat.

If the factory cooling system cannot stay cool with the factory spec t-stat something is wrong with it, and it is not the factory spec (195*) t-stat.
