Any one ever install one of these? do they keep our poor cooling rangers any cooler? I do alot of driving from beach life to desert camping...been trying to help keep my legal drinking age 92 ranger cooler on long trips at 100+ degrees.

You get what you pay for...
They have some nice fans... But the price is up there.

A 90-05 Taurus 3.8L fan would be a nice one to grab from a junkyard...
Moves a Lon of air.

i wont use them

i would run a hyundai fan first....they work pretty good.

My 16" or 18", cant remember, eBay "3000 cfm" 50$ fan works pretty goody

Never needed to change a fan on a vehicle. First ford I've owned. Reformed dodge owner...trust me I wont go back. Never had a vehicle known for poor cooling, nor driven to the desert on a weekly basis, I come from an island so I'm used to the beach. The Taurus fans seem to be liked by 4x4 folk. Talked to a dude that was thinking bout doing a Taurus fan on his TJ. Any after markets that you folks would recommend?

Around here people like cheaper-than-new aftermarket options, so things like a Taurus electric fan is a popular option.

They move a ton of air, and generally fit without much issue.

I would say save your money from an aftermarket kit and find something you like in the junkyard. Taurus is just an easy one that many people have found work really well, there are practically a million options out there in the yards.

Only thing I like about a dodge is the cummins, cause that's not built by dodge:)
If I had the chance to redo my efan I would do the Taurus, only thing I've heard is good things about them

all right ill start my hunt for a taurus fan...what about radiator options. I was thinking a spectra aftermarket...but seeing as the way the current discussion is going while I'm at the yard what radiators should I look for to pair with the taurus fan?

Ohh, no clue would say a 4.0 rad. But don't know if it would fit properly.

By the way wrong section of the forum I believe.

If you put a bigger radiator in go ahead and replace your water pump and flush the block

Just did a Taurus fan swap with a 2 core Spectre Premium radiator in my Mustang. I could not possibly be anymore pleased. Years ago I made the mistake of installing a flex-a-junk fan on it and had nothing but issues. My buddy just put the flex-a-junk fan on his with a 3 core radiator and He has just gone to a 160 thermostat because it still gets hot.

Here are some pics if you are interested. If you have questions, ask away.

By the way, IIRC, the year range on the the 3.8 fans is 90-95. Don't get a 3.0, they only have 1 speed.

Yep 90-95 3.8L or the Lincoln Mark VIII

The 3.8 Continental fan is nearly identical to the Taurus. It mounts slightly different, but the motor is the same deal. The Mark VII moves a little more air than the Taurus fan, but it draws more current.

Believe me, if the Taurus fan cools my 302, it is plenty strong enough to cool any RBV motor. My Mustang has always run a little hot.

I am so impressed, I am considering doing something on my F150.
