Fixing up my extended cab.

Well I guess I'll be on the lookout for 85-89 Mustang centercaps... one of my old roommates from Wyotech is building a Ranger...funny thing is its the same color and has the same wheels as mine did back then.

Anywho, he has center caps on the front that fit!

I had a cop in Nashville tell me to get my truck out of TN and don't bring it back to TN unless it had a rear bumper... I thought it was awesome to get a truck banned from a state...

Can they do that? I'm assuming that you are talking about your current truck. You are not a legal resident of TN and your truck is not registered in TN. Therefore they should not be able to hold you to their laws regarding that type of stuff, only laws that would matter for your truck should be GA laws which I doubt that cop knew.

Per Georgia Code:
§ 40-8-77. Energy absorption system

(a) As used in this Code section, the term "private passenger automobile" shall mean a four-wheel motor vehicle designed for carrying ten passengers or less, not for hire, for use on public roads and highways, and not designed for use as a dwelling or for camping, provided that the term "private passenger automobile" shall not include a multipurpose vehicle, which is, for the purposes of this Code section, defined as a motor vehicle, except a trailer, designed to carry ten passengers or less and constructed either on a truck chassis or with special features for occasional off-road operation.

(b) Every new private passenger automobile manufactured on and after August 1, 1973, which is sold or licensed in this state shall be sold subject to the manufacturer's warranty that it is equipped with an appropriate energy absorption system conforming to all federal motor vehicle safety standards applicable to such automobile on the date of manufacture. The warranty may be given by means of the federal safety standard certification label affixed to the automobile.

I think that excludes every Ranger registered in the state of GA from the rear bumper requirement.

its funny how all of our hot rods are running roll pans, and we go to tennessee every year, and we have just as many cops as everyone else giving us complements on the trucks.

I think they just don't likea the fords :thefinger:

They don't like my VW either, when I had it, N.C. and Tennessee BOTH told me to get bumpers on it, and it had the boogie bumpers at the time.

When I get back to working on my Ranger, it WILL have BOTH bumpers, we have too many idiots here when I live that LOVE to tailgate.

I have these wheels with the centercaps that go with them. What are your centercaps from? They seem to round out instead of round in
.

If your real careful, you can take a heat gun and heat them up a little and they will bow out, just have to be real careful, or your will burn and melt them.

Best way is to get a round rod and bend it in to a circle that is just a bit smaller then the cap, then place it face down, then heat up the back side just enough for it to bow down.

Thats my guess too Shane. An old roommate of mine from Wyotech ended up getting a ranger and putting a 2.3t in it, and he has the same wheels as I do with those caps, he just gave me the part number off of them and they came right up on ebay.
