First time posting, some questions.

I was looking at the dash, under the passenger side, and on the firewall, is what looks like a temp sensor.

I can't see such a thing, being it's manual controls.

It has 2-3 wires going to it, and that's it.
That thing under the passenger side dash is your fuel safety shut off reset button. If your in a crash that trips causing your fuel pump to quit working In case the truck was to catch fire. If you look/feel on top of it it has a little (red I think) button that you push down to reset it to make your fuel pump start working again.

I took the rubber floor out, and it appears that someone left the windows down as it sat for a couple months.

The weather stripping is all in great shape, so that's my assumption.

Now..there is surface rust on the floor pan.

Where can a guy get the rubbery like stuff that was used as a sealer or coating?

I think roof patch would work, but not sure if it would stick to metal that well.

Here is what the floor looked like after taking the rubber floor out.

Some holes appeared after using a brush.

Two hours of bondo and fiberglass later..

I sanded, wire wheeled and then primered one side.

Looks good...well worth the effort...now, what are you going to top it with?

I know you can buy new molded carpet flooring but I've used the original after drying it out for a few days in the sun...still in good shape but I'm actually going to put a layer of newer style carpet underneath first...

I took pics but haven't uploaded them yet...but they are squares of rubber backed carpet that actually mold to the grooves and curves by just sitting on them for a few hours...I've done most of the passenger side already and it only took 4 hours of sitting...lol

Works a bit better in hot weather...

I wanted to replace the backing plates, as they are rusty and full of crap.

I can't get over that they are $60 EACH.

All they are is a small sheet of stamped metal!

My rear drums were only $25 and have 4X as much metal.

Welcome to a capitalist society and market forces. A manufacterer can sell more drums per vehicle than plates, so the cost per piece is less with the drum.
